The road to Rank 14: what High Warlord takes, from a shadow priest who got there
Rank 14 is the top PvP rank in classic World of Warcraft. For the Horde it carries the title High Warlord, for the Alliance Grand Marshal. Diplomaniac reached it as an undead shadow priest in Season of Discovery on Living Flame EU, with 14,540 honorable kills.
What Rank 14 means
Ranks are earned through honor from PvP: killing enemy players and winning battlegrounds. The top ranks are the hardest in the game to reach. They reward players who keep up a high level of PvP over a long stretch of time, not a single good week.
What it takes
- Consistency. The climb is measured in weeks of steady play, not one marathon.
- A group. Organised premade groups win more and earn more honor than playing alone.
- A class that holds up in long fights. Shadow priest’s damage over time, fear and silence make it strong in battlegrounds.
- Stamina, in game and out. The grind is as much about routine and rest as about skill.
Doing it again
In WoW Forever the road starts over at level 1. Diplo is taking the same shadow priest back toward Rank 14, live. Follow it on twitch.tv/diplomaniac, Thursday to Sunday after launch night on 4 November 2026.
